Fictions are not always pure fantasy; there could be some reality to them if we dig deeper into the matter. That is the very reason why scientists are visiting top universities and asking students and professors to write imaginary solutions to the world problems. They are also handing out prizes to the deserving candidates for visionary speculative written ideas. Because they believe that with true determination and hard work, one can turn imaginations into reality. After all, everything we human are taking advantage of today was once fiction and people would never imagine that someday they will be enjoying all those advancements and luxuries. But with time and passion, everything can be achieved.
In 1869, a novel was written by Edward Everett that had a concept of
space station. In the novel, there were four college brothers used a river
powered flywheel to sling a skyscraper-size brick sphere stuffed with people
into orbit. And what we see now is much more than the imaginations; there is
actual work happening up in the space where Elon Musk with the help of NASA
trying to make living possible for humans on the red planet. Apart from this,
the idea of “Lab-Grown Meat” was first introduced back in 1880 in a short story
that shows Amazonians (mythical Greek women warriors) transformed chemical
elements of beef into synthetic burgers which seems more economical way of obtaining
meat than fattening animals. Hence, when this concept first came into reality
back in 2013, the first one costs more than $280,000 to grow but now the cost
has been trimmed down to around $12.
These are just two examples among thousands which proves that nothing is
impossible and humans have the capacity, brain and curiosity to excavate deep
down into their thoughts and find ways to make them a reality. Indeed nothing
happens at first attempt and every great invention happen after many failures but
that should not stop us from growing. I personally cannot wait to see the
civilization on Mars, self-driving cars just like other random cars on the
streets and the transformation of traditional farming to the vertical farming.
